It’s basically tteok kochi (Korean rice cake skewers) but made with rice paper sheets. Macros per serve (4 total) 452 Calories | 40g Protein | 51g Carbs | 10g Fat Ingredients (4 servings) - 700g Cubed Chicken Breast - 2 tsp Garlic Powder - 1.5 tsp Black Pepper - 2 tap Paprika - 1 tsp Salt - 30g Cornflour (Brand: Tesco) For the Glaze - 50ml Light Soy sauce mixed with 50ml Water (total 100ml) - 25g Honey - 40g Gochujang Paste (Brand: Haepyo can find this on Amazon - you can substitute this for Tomato paste mixed with sriracha if you can’t gind gochujang) Pickled Cucumbers (can be stored separately) - Thinly sliced Cucumber - 20ml Light Soy Sauce (Brand: Lee Kum Kee) - 10ml Rice Vinegar - OPTIONAL Chilli Flakes (can be really spicy, skip this if needed) - 1 tsp Garlic Powder - 1 tsp Sesame Seeds Important cooking notes - When coating the chicken with cornflour makes sure it’s well coated. Or you can skip the cornflour all together if you don’t have it - When making the glaze, add the ingredients on low heat then keep stirring till it starts to bubble lightly then let it reduce for 3-4 mins. Living in Korea has exposed me to so many foods that just aren't available in the States. One of those foods is rose tteokbokki. It a very popular dish in Korea and was even trending on social media awhile ago. I first ordered the dish from the most popular delivery app Baedal Minjok (배달의 민족) and was amazed! The rose tteokbokki was light, yet rich and creamy with a hint of sweetness. I loved it, so that's why I'm sharing this dish with you now! I saved the sauce from my order when testing this recipe and, after several failed attempts, I finally created a sauce that tastes almost identical to what I ordered. I wrote a detailed write up of all the ingredients I used + substitutions you can use instead. I know Korean ingredients can be confusing for some, so I hope my blog post helps you! Unlike the other tteokbokki recipes on my page, this one uses NO gochujang. This is actually a popular trend in Korea, so I knew I needed to try it. I was worried about the tteokbokki being flavorless, but I was wrong! All of the ingredients came together really liked it. So, give it a try and let me know what you think. Dangmyeon (당면) noodles, or potato starch noodles, were used for this recipe. I love the texture of these noodles! It’s soft, chewy and light. I highly recommend it, but it is difficult to find outside of a Korean market.
